Here are some outfit examples. This is my family from last fall. I am a big fan of solid colors and adding detail with textures! I like to have several neutral colors in the outfits, such as cream, tan, and gray. And then I brought in my sweater which was a mulberry/eggplant color. Then my one son wore a lighter shade of that color but it still fit in the same color family. I didn't want him to wear the exact same color. His shirt has a waffle texture with some buttons to add detail. I like layers, so he wore a gray t-shirt underneath. I accented my sweater with a pretty silver decorative necklace. My daughter is wearing a berry color headband, but now I wanted to incorporate some neutral colors. Her faux fur vest has two tones and texture. She also wore a silver necklace. She and I both have blue jeans (and my husband), but slightly different shades and our ankle boots are similar in color. As for the boys, I didn't want everyone wearing blue jeans, so they are wearing tan slacks, but not the same ones. My middle son has a wheat or flax color with a smooth texture. My youngest has corduroys. Then my youngest is wearing a two tone woven sweater which is gray/cream. And then he has a cream shirt underneath. Again, use those layers to pick up small amounts of other colors. My middle son has tan Bucks, and the youngest has gray Converse shoes. Everyone wears neutral color socks. Some have stripes, but they go with the outfits. Finally my husband has a maroon t-shirt under his gray sweater.
