A common topic discussed when speaking with potential newborn clients, is how we style your newborn session.
My studio is filled with carefully curated wraps, bonnets, accessories, and props for your use during a newborn session. Before the start of each session, I need time to set-up everything. I like to know ahead of time what colors you like or want used in your photos. So after you book, I send you a brief questionnaire to find out your vision for the session. This is especially important to save time preparing scenes during the session.
If I know what colors/items you would like incorporated, I will have that ready to go before you arrive at the studio. Then you can choose which props and colors to prioritize during the session. You can also switch things out. For example, I may have a honey bucket set-up with a certain color wrap but also set aside another color option and ask you which one you’d like better. It is important to me that you love your photos, and so your opinion matters. On the other hand, if you love it all or aren’t sure what to choose, just tell me, and I will be happy to design it for you.
Some of my clients prefer color, and other prefer all neutrals used during the session. I like both.
In addition to color choices, posing style is another topic on the questionnaire. Do you want less props and more lifestyle poses? It’s up to you. Just let me know.
If I were to design a neutral color photo session with a combination of posed and lifestyle inspired family photos, this is what it would look like. I curated this session with the idea of creating a cohesive gallery that would flow nicely in a luxury album.
Check out how these images were then used to create an album that showcases the love of this new family of 3 in my next post. How we style your newborn session is important if you would like to print a cohesive album. That is why I recommend coordinating colors used from set-up to set-up so that everything looks nice together.
[…] Now of course, a copy of a copy is never as good as the original. These are photos that I took of photos in an album. As you can imagine, the album is much more beautiful in person. To view the digital images selected for this album, check out my previous blog post HERE! […]
