It has been quite some time since I’ve written a blog post; at least on my computer. I write them in my head all the time, and sometimes I write them in my blog journal. After a very busy fall season, I am catching up on some session blogging. My favorite part about blog posts is to share some images from recent (or not so recent) sessions, beyond my Instagram posts. However, I do try to include some helpful information that is relevant to photography or topics which may be relatable to my clients.
So for starters, this post is about including lifestyle/posed images in studio sessions. When you think of a studio session, you mostly think of posed photography. That’s because you aren’t moving around like you would in a natural light, outdoor session. With flash photography, you have a certain place you need to be based on the direction of the light. But that doesn’t mean everything about you has to be posed. You can still interact some in your space.
For this session, we did more natural poses with the baby solo, as he was already out of the sleepy newborn stage. And for the parent portraits his mother wanted to show some smiles to portray their feeling of happiness surrounding their beautiful baby boy. What you will find is somewhat of a hybrid of lifestyle/posed images in studio. I love the neutral colors for a timeless look.
